  • We are seeing an increase in the amount of children absent from school.  The reasons for calling off varied, but include flu like illness, upper respiratory illness, and stomach viruses. 
     
    If your child is sick please keep them home until their illness is over or their temperature has been down for at least 24 hours.

    Students Arrive 30 Minutes Later than Normal

     

    LATE START WEDNESDAYS

     

    The first Wednesday of the month, Portage Township Schools will have Late Start Wednesday. Students will arrive to school 30 minutes later than normal. Late Start Wednesday is used by Portage Township Schools for Teacher Professional Development. This schedule will be used on seven dates during the school year.

    On Late Start Wednesday dates, the buses in the morning will run 30 minutes later. Student dismissal at the end of the day will occur at the normal time. Below is a schedule for each of the buildings, including breakfast time and the official start of the day. All eight elementary schools will follow the same schedule.

     

    All Elementary Schools          

    - 30 min. Delay      
    - Breakfast 9:00 a.m.
    - Arrival 9:10 a.m.   
    - Start of Day 9:25 a.m.

    Fegely Middle School                  

    - 30 min. Delay      
    - Breakfast 8:05 a.m.             
    - Arrival 8:15 a.m.   
    - Start of Day 8:30 a.m.

    Willowcreek Middle School        

    - 30 min. Delay      
    - Breakfast 7:30 a.m.             
    - Arrival 7:40 a.m.   
    - Start of Day 7:55 a.m.

    Portage High School                  

    - 30 min. Delay      
    - Breakfast 7:30 a.m.             
    - Arrival 7:40 a.m.   
    - Start of Day 8:00 a.m.
     

    The other dates for Late Start Wednesday for 2014-15 are:    

    January 7    
    February 4       
    April 1
