The Portage Township School Corporation has designed a Summer School Program for Elementary and Middle School Students to provide students with additional learning activities and time to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed at the next level of their education.
Summer School instruction will focus on the Indiana Academic Standards in reading, English/Language Arts and mathematics. Your child will benefit from participation in the 2011 PTS Summer School Program. Please take advantage of this opportunity should your child's teacher or building principal indicate to you that your child should attend as either a requirement, as an opportunity to "catch up", or as an opportunity to strengthen his/her academic skills.
One of the most powerful indicators of a child's possible academic success in the next grade level is the level of the child's academic success in his/her current grade level. Some students need more time to develop the knowledge and skills, which will enable them to succeed at the next grade level. This is not a fault, it is a fact. Participation in the 2011 Summer School Program of the Portage Township School Corporation will be the "gift of time for learning" that will benefit our students, your children.
