Welcome to Mrs. Bogue's webpage!

I began teaching in 2003 upon graduation from Valparaiso University with a degree in elementary education along with a reading endorsement.  During the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years I taught third and fourth grade at St. Francis Xavier in Lake Station.  In the spring of 2005 the school closed.  That fall I began subbing for Portage Township Schools.  In the fall of 2007 I was hired as a remediation specialist for Kyle.  During the next two school years I worked with third, fourth, and fifth grade students who were at risk of failing ISTEP.  In April of 2009 I was hired as a full time fifth grade teacher at Kyle.  I will graduate in December 2011 from Indiana Wesleyan with a Masters in Education.

My husband Chad and I were married in October of 2005 and have two children with a third on the way.  Our daughter Jaycie is five, our son Ryan is three, and our son Benjamin is due in December.  Being a wife and mother is the best job in the world and something that brings me joy and satisfaction each day.  In addition to spending time with my family I enjoy reading, crocheting, and exercising.

My goal for this website is to make tools available to my students that will help with their success in fifth grade, as well as giving information to parents to stay involved with their child's journey. Since it is a tool, I will try to keep it up-to-date as time permits.

As the school year progresses I look forward to all the new and exciting challenges and experiences it will bring.
