Resources for Military & Veteran Families

Portage Township Schools is proud to honor and support for our active military and veteran families. In doing so, PTS shows our appreciation for the service of the brave men and women of the US Armed Forces and their families. We have aligned our practices with the Indiana Department of Education's Purple Star designation and are proud to offer the following to our students, families, and community:

 

Assigned Point of Contact: Each school has a designated staff member who serves as a liaison for service members, veterans, and students and families. 

POC Training Requirement: Each point of contact has completed training on this through the Indiana Department of Education.

Host an Annual Military Program: Each PTS school hosts a military recognition event that demonstrates a military-friendly culture.

Public Military Display: Each PTS school has a display recognizing service members, veterans, and/or students and families.

 

Active military and veteran families who need additional support or resources should reach out to their child's school's Point of Contact.
