School Resource Officers

The Portage Township Schools' School Resource Officer (SRO) program is here to help in many important ways. The main goals are to keep schools safe, build strong relationships with students, and create a positive and trusting school environment. SROs work with students, teachers, families, and the community to encourage good communication and understanding. They also help teach students about the law, the importance of making good choices, and how police officers can be positive role models.

 

The success of the SRO program depends on trust and respect between students, parents, staff, and officers. Everyone working together helps make the program stronger.
