We are excited to welcome our students to our 2021 Summer School program! Below is important information for families of students who will be attending Summer School. Please call your child's assigned school for Summer School or email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Summer School Dates, Times & Locations
Portage High School (763-8100)
Session 1 of Summer school for PHS students begins Wednesday, June 2 and runs through June 24. Session 2 begins June 28 and ends on July 21. Students will attend classes from 7:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m Monday through Thursday. Student drivers must park in the PHS West parking lot in front of the main entrance (door F). Drop-off and pick-up will take place at the PHS West main entrance (door F). Drop-offs, pick-ups, and parking on the north side of the building are prohibited.
Willowcreek Middle School (763-8090)
Summer School for students in grades 6-8 will run June 7 to July 1 at Willowcreek Middle School. Students will attend classes from 8:30 a.m. until noon Monday through Thursday. Drop-off and pick-up will take place in the front of the school off of Willowcreek Road. Drop-offs and pick-ups in the west parking lot between Aylesworth and Willowcreek are prohibited.
Aylesworth Elementary School (763-8010)
Summer School for students in grades K-5 will run June 7 to July 1 at Aylesworth Elementary School. Students will attend classes from 8:30 a.m. until noon Monday through Thursday. (Kindergarten dismisses at 11:30 a.m.) Drop-off and pick-up will take place in the horseshoe in between Aylesworth and Willowcreek off of Evergreen Avenue. (Take Central Avenue to Pryor and turn north. Turn east onto Evergreen Avenue. Turn right at the access road just past the Boys & Girls Club.) Drop-offs and pick-ups in the parking lot are prohibited.
Policies, Procedures, and Rules
All school policies, procedures, and rules in place during the normal school year will be applicable during our Summer School program.
Students are expected to arrive at school on time and maintain good attendance in order to maximize their Summer School experience. Excessive absences from Summer School may affect the student's school year, especially at the high school where credit requirements must be met for graduation. Students who are not maintaining regular attendance at Summer School may be asked to meet with the principal.
Standards of Conduct
Students will be held to the same standards of conduct and expectations as they would during the normal school year. Students are expected to:
- Actively participate in their classes and complete all assigned work in a timely manner.
- Adhere to the established school dress code.
- Conduct themselves in a dignified manner and be respectful of all students and adults.
- Follow all rules as established in the Parent/Student Handbook.
Health & Safety Protocols
All students and staff will adhere to the health and safety protocols outlined in the PTS Back to School Plan. This will continue to help us mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. Below are the highlights of this plan:
- All individuals in the building will wear face masks. Students may be permitted to take a "mask break" at the teachers' discretion.
- Students will be given ample opportunities to wash and/or sanitize their hands.
- Surfaces will be thoroughly cleaned between use. Custodial staff will continue to sanitize common touch points in the building throughout the Summer School day.
- Visitors to the building will be limited.
Students who need transportation to and/or from Summer School may view their bus information by logging into Versatrans E-Link or by downloading and logging into the Versatrans MyStop app. If you have already downloaded the app, please make sure you are using the most recent version. All school bus rules and policies in place during the school year are applicable in Summer School. If your child plans to ride a different school bus on a given day, a signed note will need to be turned into the office at your child's Summer School location.

Summer School students will receive meals daily in-school Monday through Thursday. Summer School students can pre-order a 3-Day Meal Pack to take home from school on Thursdays during Summer School.
