PTS Special Education Parent Advisory Committee

Portage SEPAC logoThe Portage Special Education Parent Advisory Committee is a district-level, parent-driven group that provides input to their local school district on system-level challenges in special education. The group is advisory in nature and collaborates with district staff to address thoughts and ideas in special education programming within the district. Members of the Portage SEPAC include parents/guardians of children receiving special education services through an IEP or 504 plan, school leaders, and PTS staff members. The Portage SEPAC does not serve as an advocacy group, PTO, or social group. What it does is provide outreach, positive relationships, collaborative problem solving, system change based on input, a trusted source of information, information sharing, and improved services and programs.
