Portage Township Schools offers a comprehensive preschool program designed for children of all abilities and learning styles. Located at Jones Elementary School, our program provides an inclusive environment where both general education students and those with special needs learn together and thrive.
 
Program Features
Our preschool program includes:
  • Half-day classes available in both morning and afternoon sessions five days a week.
  • Licensed teachers and dedicated paraprofessionals in every classroom.
  • Curriculum focused on kindergarten readiness.
  • Development of social skills, early literacy, and math foundations.
  • An integrated learning environment supporting all abilities.
 
Educational Approach
Children in our program benefit from:
  • Centers-based play promoting exploration and discovery
  • Visual schedules supporting daily routines
  • Hands-on learning activities encouraging active participation
  • Individualized support tailored to each child's needs
  • On-site accommodations and services to include speech therapy, occupational therapy, and more for qualifying students
 
Enrollment Information
  • General Education students
    • Open to children ages 4 and 5
    • $400/month
    • One-time $75 supply fee
  • Special Education students:
    • Open to children ages 3, 4, and 5 with an IEP
    • No fee, per Indiana state statute
