Indiana Sun Bucks: Summer EBT

The Summer EBT program has a new name: Indiana SUN Bucks! This benefits program provides families with $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out. Most eligible families will receive these benefits automatically, but some parents will need to apply.

PTS families who automatically qualify for SUN Bucks will receive an email stating such from our Food Service department. All other families will receive an email with more information on how to submit an application for SUN Bucks.

In order to receive SUN Bucks, families must have an accurate mailing address on file with your child's school. Families who need to update their mailing address should call their child's school before Wednesday, May 1. The state will mail the SUN Bucks cards to the address that is on file with your child's school.

Children are eligible for the program if:
  • the household already participates in SNAP, TANF, or income-based Medicaid, or
  • the school-aged child is a foster child defined as being a ward of the state, homeless, or migrant, or
  • the child attends a school that offers the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and the household income meets the requirements for free or reduced-price school meals.

The Indiana SUN Bucks program is available in addition to free meals that kids of all ages can get at summer meal sites in their communities. More information about the Summer Meal Program at PTS will be shared soon.
