Portage Township Schools To Achieve Major Energy Savings Through Innovative Efficiency Project

Portage Township Schools has committed to a groundbreaking energy savings project to reduce energy consumption, lower utility costs, and promote sustainability throughout the district. Stratelign collaborated with Portage Township Schools to manage a comprehensive feasibility study and competitive RFP process.  The study findings identified key opportunities for improvement and ensured the RFP was tailored to the most impactful solutions.  The  RFP process resulted in Portage Township Schools selecting Performance Services, Inc.  as the contractor for the project.  Stratelign will serve as the Owner’s Rep throughout the construction phase to ensure smooth project execution, adherence to timelines and budget, and alignment with quality standards.

District leaders and community stakeholders are excited about the positive impact this project will have on both the budget and the environment. The district is looking forward to the significant long-term savings offered through the more than $9.6 million in energy savings, tax credits, and rebates.  These savings will have a positive financial effect on the district Operations Fund, which is set to be impacted by Indiana’s Senate Enrolled Act 1.

“This partnership with Stratelign reflects the forward-thinking,  student-centered vision we embrace at Portage Township Schools,”  said Dr. Amanda Alaniz, Superintendent of Portage Township Schools.  “I am incredibly grateful for the  hard work and innovative thinking of our PTS team and our partners at Stratelign. Their collaboration and long-term planning helped bring this project to life, ensuring that we can operate more efficiently, reinvest savings where they matter most, and continue building a sustainable future for our students and community.”
