Portage Township Schools is proud to announce that Nora Callaway, a third-grade student at Crisman Elementary School, has been selected as the recipient of the Distinguished Student Award from the Indiana Association for the Gifted (IAG).
This prestigious statewide honor recognizes exceptional student achievement in academics, leadership, or the arts. Each year, only one student from across the state of Indiana is chosen to receive this award, making Nora’s selection an extraordinary accomplishment.
Nora was nominated by her second-grade teacher, Lil Falk, in recognition of her outstanding academic abilities, creativity, and leadership qualities. Her selection marks a historic milestone, as she is the first student from Portage Township Schools to receive the Distinguished Student Award.
The Indiana Association for the Gifted awards program is designed to celebrate student excellence while also highlighting the unique educational needs of gifted learners throughout Indiana. Nora’s achievement reflects not only her dedication and talents, but also the commitment of educators who foster student growth and encourage excellence.
Portage Township Schools extends its sincere congratulations to Nora on this remarkable honor and commends her family and teachers for their continued support. This achievement is a proud moment for the district and serves as an inspiration to students across the Portage Township Schools community.
