PTS School Board Vacancy Information

The Portage Township School Board has announced a vacancy for the School District 1 Board position. This appointment must be filled by June 25, 2026 and will serve the remainder of the current term, which expires at the end of 2027. The individual selected to serve the subsequent term will be chosen during the General Election in November 2026.

Individuals interested in being considered for the appointment should submit a written Notice of Interest to President Andy Maletta. The Board will review all submissions to evaluate candidate qualifications. Applicants must be residents of School District 1.

Candidates are encouraged to include the following materials and information with their Notice of Interest:

  • A current resume
  • Educational Background
  • Community involvement and service
  • Experience related to education or educational initiatives
  • Experience managing or overseeing large budgets
  • A statement outlining their vision for education within the community
  • Experience developing policies and procedures within an organization
  • Previous leadership roles
  • Any additional information demonstrating their qualifications to serve in this position
